Ride 1 Day 5 2012

Nakhom Panom to Thatphanom

Ride 1 Day 4 2012

Ban Paeng to Nakhom Panom

Ride 1 Day 3 2012

Beung Khan to Ban Paeng 98km

One of the best days on the bike in all the tours I have done through Thailand.  It was a mix of some stunning country and plenty of time riding on road and off road.  The scenery continued to change and the country is such a contrast to that of the southern ride.  We rode 80km before lunch and we were off the bikes by 1.30pm which was nice as the afternoon sun started to bite.  The temperature was certainly different to that of the previous couple of days.

Ride 1 - Day 2 2012

Pak Khat to Beung Khan 62km

Only half a day on the bike today but Tony Love-Linay ensured all eyes were on him with a flat tyre as we were all ready to ride out.  The morning was a very casual ride to the point where people were stopping to retrieve jumpers such is the climate in the north of Thailand.  We visited a local school and Jaidyn Arnold took on rock star status with the young Thai girls.  I am sure he will look back in years to come, thinking he might have let a chance go bye.

Ride 1 Day 1 2012

Nong Khai to Pak Khat 93kms

Date for the Diary 18 May 2012

For the fourth year running a Night of Inspiration will be held in Sydney.  On the 18th of May 2012, the Sydney Hilton will be home to the Hands family as we celebrate the success of the kids in Thailand and again launch our annual bike ride for 2013.  Tickets sold out for the 2011 dinner, so it is sure to be another stella event.  Wendy Matthews is the pre dinner entertainment and will bring soulful delights to the evening.

Hands to join the Kwik Kopy Classic

The Managing Director of Kwik Kopy, David Bell, thought that there had to be synergies when he heard about the Hands 800km bike ride in we run.  Kwik Kopy themselves run an 800km bike ride but here in Australia.  David liked what Hands stands for and invited us to be the charity partner for their 2012 ride in March.  The ride of 800km is from Sydney through the Hunter Valley, across to Mudgee, Lithgow, the Blue Mountains and back to Sydney.  A small team of Hands riders will join the Kwik Kopy riders to tackle the course in just over five days.
