Rest day (day five)

Friday 22 January 2010

400kms down and we are officially half way there.

After a hard night's celebration, most of us woke feeling a little worst for wear and enjoyed a slow, lazy day today. Mali Blues bar didn't know what hit it last night when 35 sunkissed riders turned up looking for some live music and lots of cold beers. After Michael Jackson decided to buy the first round of tequila shots we all knew the night was going to go downhill quickly.  Everyone had a great time including the bar staff who were amazed that we managed to drink the bar dry.

Darren Spencer and Michael Doyle did the unthinkable today and voluntarily jumped on their bikes for a 38km ride to stretch the legs.  Craziness!!  The rest of us spent our time lying on the beach or by the pool enjoying the cool breeze and yummy homemade hamburgers.

Another short day tomorrow, only 90kms. Looking forward to that!
